List of the most important developments
In 2003, within the SB RAMS priority research direction “Development of diagnostics, treatment, and after-treatment methods for the most common diseases of children and adult population,” Research institutions of the Siberian Branch worked out over 40 new methods for diagnostics, treatment, and prevention, out of which 4 have been approved as the RF Ministry of Public Health as a reference manuals for physicians, 25 have been approved at the regional level.
NEW TREATMENT METHODS WERE DEVELOPED:
for treating cicatrical stenoses esophageal-intestinal anastomosis (reference manual for physicians, approved by RF PHM on 04.07.03); radiobiologic criteria for planning combination treatment with interoperative laser therapy malignant neoplasms (approved by RF PHM 30.10.03); original lung cancer treatment regimen for operable and inoperable cases; methods for preparation of actively regenerating bone graft intended for grafting of bone defects after excision (oncology, SI RI for oncology);
differential treatment for arterial hypertension based on the dynamics of cardiac rhythm variability (cardiology, SI RI for integrated problems for hygiene and occupational diseases);
sinus rhythm maintenance (after its recovery) in patients with chronic auricular fibrillation – temporary biatrial stimulation (cardiology, SI RI for cardiology)
treatment of postsurgical hepatic failure by subcutaneous introduction of cryogenically conserved cultivated xenohepatocytes; surgical treatment of severe injuries of liver and other parenchymal organs with the minimum intraoperative blood loss in patients suffering from decompensated [irreversible?] shock and disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome; freezing injury of lower limbs, significantly reducing the proportion of mutilating surgery; regenerative amplification of articular cartilage enabling one to avoid graft-versus-host disease (surgery, SI RC for reconstructive and plastic surgery).
THE FOLLOWING NEW DIAGONOSTIC TECHNIQUES HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED:
diagnostics of virus-positive cervical cancer (reference manuals for physicians, approved by RF PHM 01.11.02) (oncology, SI RI for oncology);
test system for external quality control of cytogenetic investigation at medicogenetic service institutions (reference manuals for physicians, approved by RF PHM 10.04.02) (genetics, SI RI for medical genetics);
prognostication of habitual noncarrying of pregnancy (obstetrics, SI RI for integrated problems for hygiene and occupational diseases);
evaluation of sternum blood supply after thoracic surgery; coronary (ischemic) heart disease in hyperinsulinemia; sustainability of myocardium vascularization after cardiomyoplasty; intraoperative ultrasonic scanning of coronary artery bypasses; functional evaluation of vascular bed sensitivity of the brain –adenosine test; forecasting the outcome of cardiogenic shock in patients with acute myocardial infarction (cardiology, SI RI for cardiology);
procedure of examining the patients with diabetic foot syndrome with mandatory evaluation of peripheral lymph flow parameters (endocrinology, SI RI for clinical and experimental lymphology);
detection of latent drug abuse of the population (narcology, SI RI for mental health).
THE FOLLOWING NEW PREVENTION TECHNIQUES HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED:
monitoring program for occupational morbidity at OJSC “Novokuznetsk aluminum plant”; program of medical and preventive control of fluorosis at Novokuznetsk aluminum plant (occupational diseases, SI RI for integrated problems for hygiene and occupational diseases);
Algorithm «Program for prevention of sudden cardiac death in children with syncopal states and cardiac rhythm disturbances and measures for its implementation » (pediatrics, SI RI for medical problem of the North);
methods for audio-, video-, vibro-, and tactile stimulation for prevention and treatment (SI RI for physiology).
THE FOLLOWING TEST SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED:
integrated test system for polymerase chain reaction-passive transfer skin test for detection of tick-borne encephalitis, tick-borne borreliosis, and tick-borne rickettsiosis (laboratory series have been obtained) (SI RC for medical ecology)
PHARMACEUTICALS (DRUGS), DIAGNOSTIC AIDS, AND PRVENTIVE MEANS
The pre-clinical testing of two pharmaceuticals is being carried out, i.e.: tincture of the epigeal portion of Baikal aconite intended for psoriasis treatment; and the drug Salivertin (acetylsalicylic acid mixed with diquertin) improving rheological (flow) properties of blood (SI RI for pharmacology).
The approval was granted by RF PHM to start clinical testing of bioequivalence of three drugs: Simvastatin – an analogue of Zokor («MSD», the Netherlands); Nioductal-20 (trimetazidine) – an analogue of Preductal («Servier», France); Prazosin – an analogue of Prazosin («Norton Healthcare», Great Britain) (SI RI for pharmacology).
The production of Arthrophoon (tablets), a homeopathic drug for arthropathy treatment has been launched (SI RI for pharmacology).
MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT
Prototype samples of the designed articles have been manufactures: dilatationary attachment endoscope applied for the diagnostics of gastrointestinal diseases (SI RC for clinical and experimental medicine); testbed for testing atrioventricular heart valve bioprosthesis (SI Scientific and Production fundamental research laboratory for reconstructive cardio-vascular surgery).
NUTRITIVES DEVELOPED AND APPROVED BY RF PHM (MEDICINAL PRODUCTS, FORTIFIED FOODS, BIOACTIVE DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS, INFANT FOODS, SPECIALIZED NUTRIENTS, ETC.)
The RF Ministry of Public Health approved three fortification bioactive dietary supplements: «Nucleatine» - in gerontological practice and for è cancer patients (SI RI for medical ecology); «Anabarin» - for the cases of physical, mental, emotional, and psychological strain and stress; «Genakhola» as a supplementary source of nicotinic acid, iron (SI RI pharmacology).
Commercial production of the following 13 biologically active dietary supplements has been successfully launched: «Phytobalance-V» - the supplementary source of flavonoids, organic acids, carotenoids (SI RI for clinical and experimental lymphology); «Element-3. Balance formula-I» - a bracing and immunomodulatory nutrient; «Element-4. Balance formula-K» - for prevention and auxiliary treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases; «Element-5. Balance formula Ñ» - for the prevention and auxiliary treatment for degenerative inflammatory arthropathies (ÍÖÊÝÌ ÑÎ); «Solopana» - for the treatment of inflammatory diseases; «Ferropana» - for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia; «Gemafemina (Panto gematogema-F)» - for the treatment of menopausal disorders; Bioactive dietary supplements – the supplementary source of amber acid – in tablets « Amber acid », «Amber power », «Amber-cardio-phyto », «Amber-geronto-phyto»; syrups «Amber-betaron», «Amber-baby- phyto » (SI RI for pharmacology).
